Elite Hotel Prague
One of the few places to stay in Prague within the trendy SoNa area, Elite Hotel Prague was renovated and reopened in 2000, although the original building dates back more than 500 years. Today it’s a charming place set in a lively and interesting part of town that eschews the prevalent SoNa accent of modern and contemporary for a more traditional voice that soothes with easy-going affability.
The Elite Hotel Prague works with many of its original features – ornate stuccowork, painted ceilings and simple beams – and is kitted out with correspondingly heavyweight wooden furniture. There are 77 uniquely decorated rooms, all containing pieces of original antique furniture, engravings of 17th-century Prague and private bathrooms.
Modern features also grace the rooms, including pay TV, satellite, PC connections, WiFi and minibars; business travellers may want to request one of the rooms with a writing desk. The two main suites are spacious, and one of them comes with a 17th-century Renaissance ceiling.
A courtyard provides a great summer breakfast area as well as an ambient, tranquil location for an evening drink, and the Elite Hotel Prague is also connected to Ultramarin – a lively bar, restaurant and nightclub accessed through a separate entrance down the street.
