Ferry Plaza Farmers Market
San Francisco’s much-loved parking lot Farmers Market got a serious upgrade a few years ago, when it moved into the Ferry Building Marketplace but it’s remained one of the best San Francisco markets. It’s still held in a parking lot around the back, but now it is attached to a wonderland of fine restaurants and high-end gourmet specialty shops that stay open all week. You want local oysters and Acme bread? Done. You want caviar, fresh flowers, ripe fruits, fair trade Blue Bottle coffee, and a food-obsessed bookstore? Done. Add incredible views and space to walk, relax, and stretch out on the grass nearby, and the Farmers Market is no longer just a place to fill a basket with groceries. It’s a highly enjoyable destination for visitors and locals alike.
