Forno Boccione
Known all over Rome for its delicious ricotta and sour cherry pies, amaretto biscuits and ‘Jewish pizza’, a hefty block of sweet dough stuffed with dried fruits, Forno Boccione is one of the bakeries in Rome that is hard to resist. It is so popular it neither has nor needs any signage outside. Find it by following the smell of freshly baked cakes that spreads all over the Ghetto or look for the crowds waiting for their daily sugar fix. Just make sure you head there by lunchtime before everything is sold out.
