Four Seasons Centre
Jack Diamond’s contemporary architecture, devoid of gilt ornamentation and red velvet, has won numerous design awards and plaudits since its inauguration in 2006. The main lobby features a five-storey glass façade designed in Germany – the first of its kind in North America – with glass walls that are computer-controlled to reduce heat gain on scorching days. The lobby’s glass staircase is the longest free-spanning glass staircase in the world.
The auditorium itself is horseshoe-shaped, with five tiers and 2,070 seats. The look is light, airy and successfully unpretentious, with beech and maple woods and taupe surfaces.
