Hg2 : The Hedonist

Foyer Vietnamese

From the outside this Vietnamese restaurant looks more like a travel agent due to the faded posters of exotic locations lining the windows from top to bottom. But once you poke your nose through one of the gaps you’ll come to see that the place is heaving with hungry Parisians bent over steaming bowls and colouful platters. Open for both lunch and supper, the tables are always packed and the food never disappointing. Huge bowls of pho consisting of tasty broth, noddles and seared beef come at a very reasonable 4 Euro, and are delicious. As is the goi rau muong bu salad which comes with beef and or chicken, noodles and a splattering of nuts. The décor is straightforward, turnover quick and the dishes delightful. With a menu that never reaches 10 Euro, and a plethora of exotic dishes, this family run establishment set in the heart of the Latin Quater makes a refreshing change from the mostly disappointing fare found in the more tourist based restaurants lining rue Moffetard.
