Francouzská
Perhaps the most distinguished of all the restaurants in Prague, Francouszká is located within the Municipal House, one of the city’s most impressive Art Nouveau buildings. Sharing the same architectural character as its host edifice, the dining room of Francouzská is a large, open room with stunning gold chandeliers, cylindrical glass and wall lights, all topped with an awe-inspiring 30-foot painted ceiling.
Settle into a dark green leather banquette behind an expanse of pristine white tablecloth covered in fine Bohemian crystal, and drift back a century or so as you browse the menu. An erudite blend of traditional Czech and world cuisine, the food is generally top-notch (specialities include lobster bisque and coq au vin). In the same building are an equally impressive Kavarna and a beautiful concert hall.
