Hg2 : The Hedonist

Frank

When it comes to fast food in Tel Aviv, hot dogs and sausages have always been relegated to the status of children’s meals. Skewered meets and hamburgers dominated street food culture, while the elongated tube of processed meats were left to the feasting eyes of locals watching reruns of American sitcoms. Frank, the gourmet sausage chain found 3 years ago by musician and part-time food engineer Zeev Tenah, seeks to reeducate the masses and offer a new alternative to the usual suspects of snacking fare.

Armed with the personal recipes of a Bavarian Sausage maker he met at a food convention in Germany, Zeev Tenah returned to Tel Aviv and launched Frank, the first in what has become a chain of gourmet sausage stalls named after the long-closed hot-dog stand frequented by Zeev as a child. The bratwursts are the jewel in the crown, though it will be tough leaving dissatisfied after trying any of the menu selections; Frank delivers on its motto, “Sausages with pride.”
