Gansevoort Miami Beach
Gansevoort Miami Beach is the place where you can put your finger on the pulse of NYC amidst the techno thump of South Florida. The Gansevoort Miami Beach Hotel, Spa and Residences – to give it it’s full name – is the sister property to the other Gansevoort that helped transform Manhattan’s Meatpacking district from grit to glamour. This one has already served as the setting for a serial reality show and the entry space – a pink, yellow and white nightmare with oversized chairs and a fish-tank wall – is certainly camera-ready.
You could loiter comfortably in the room (if you really wanted to) on feather beds covered in Egyptian cotton, peering at the 40-inch HDTV or steaming under the dual-head shower. But there are so many distractions, such as the not-insignificant 55,000-square-foot private beach club and the breathtaking rooftop pool and bar. The Gansevoort clan has thoughtfully imported some other familiar New York names (Phillipe Chow and his Asian boite Phillipe, David Barton Gym) to show camaraderie, but Miami native Louis, the nightspot on ground level, is reeling the masses in just fine, thank you.
