Gin Palace
Looking through the drinks list at the Gin Palace, you could be forgiven for thinking that you had accidentally picked up a food menu. What you cannot be forgiven for, however, is leaving without sampling a cocktail from “Out of the Pantry” and “In the biscuit tin.” As weird and wonderful as these may sound on paper (icing on a cocktail?), we can assure you that once tasted, you will forever be wondering why everywhere else doesn’t give you a chocolate hobnob with your espresso martini. As well as the fun and the unusual, the Gin Palace knows how to do the classic – very well. With over thirty kinds of gin on its shelves, you can see that serious attention is given to their craft. If you’re unfamiliar with cocktails, just tell them what you feel like and they will expertly create a bespoke personal drink just for you – and you can be sure it won’t be on the menu. The atmosphere is relaxed and upbeat, not least because of the energetic and engaging bar staff who are not only incredibly good at what they do, but honestly seem to enjoy doing it. Music is of the loud and chart-topping variety, making it perfect for a more lively after-work drink or, on the weekend, a great place to go with a large group.
