Situated just a few blocks away from Venice Beach, Gjelina (silent ‘G’) gives off an air of rustic Southern charm, which attracts the neighbourhood’s mix of low-key locals and Venice’s high rollers. The reasonably-priced and beautifully cooked small plate menu transforms hearty Modern American and Italian dishes into something altogether more delicate. We’d recommend grabbing a handful of dishes each (portions don’t tend to be too large) and try away – you won’t regret it as the food is to die for. If you’re after something a little more substantial try one of their awesome pizzas. You might need to try and get a reservation – Gjelina is kicking and since it opened the tables are like gold dust.
