Glaz’art
Roots, psychedelia, post-rock, dubstep… Glaz’art is a concert venue and club on the outskirts of the centre that does the eclectic thing very well, attracting clubbers from all over Paris. It’s a converted bus station, and the exterior ain’t much, but inside it feels nice and homely, with armchairs and tables set around a big dancefloor. The club nights get packed and sweaty, with an outdoor terrace offering welcome respite on midsummer nights. As you’d expect on the edge of the banlieue, drinks are inexpensive and, in summer, the adjacent carpark is transformed into a beach, with five tons of sand, WiFi, world-food Sunday brunch, boules, ‘experimentations soniques’ and free concerts. Fun before profit – it could be the Glaz’art motto.
