Gramercy Tavern

Self-consciously rustic yet smooth as imported silk, Gramercy Tavern – under the “Slow-Food” inspired helm of chef Michael White – is many things to many people. It is the agent-author power lunching pow-wow; the make-an- impression on the in-laws dinner delight, the catch-up-with-your-old-buddy at the bar lynchpin – as many ways as one can love this Danny Meyer Flatiron eatery is as many answers as we got from those who know in this town.

Writer Raquel Pelzel loves that they’ll give you half pours from the stellar wine list – an option all-too rare for the wine-and-food pairing devotee; and many agree that the Tavern has the smoothest service around. But maybe Ozersky (who’s partial to the front room) summed it up best: “Gramercy Tavern is the quintessential modern New York restaurant.”
