Hg2 : The Hedonist

Grand House

Many of the embassies in the city consider The Grand House to be one of their favourite hotels in Bogota, partly because of a side entrance that’s accessible via the garage: removing the necessity of stepping foot outside means Bogota’s VIPs can be guaranteed top security. The rooms, too, cater to such prestigious guests and are a touch warmer than minimalist, with sleek and bright designs that are decidedly unfussy. Each of the 64 rooms are fabulously furnished with a dark wooden desk and brown leather armchairs, but most of the suites come with lashings more. In line with the feng-shui influence that inspired much of the design, a superbly-spacious junior suite comprises a sleek dining table, an overstuffed sofa, and within each bathroom, a large, romance-worthy bathtub. The executive suites supply yet more space (and a kitchenette and three bathrooms, amongst the amenities), and are often used as apartments for those who want to stay a while. This is very much a hotel for sharp-suited business types, but there’s always a chance to wind down in the sauna, Turkish bath or steam bath. Who said you can’t mix business with pleasure?
