Great American Music Hall
The Great American Music Hall, is nothing if not ornate, the most of all live music bars in San Francisco: just check out the massive columns, the lavish balconies, and the frescoes that adorn the ceilings. While some might find it overdone, the atmosphere adds a touch of beauty to any act that comes here to perform, which range from Gavin DeGraw to OK Go to Dark Star Orchestra. There’s just something about this storied space, opened in 1907, which was once a bordello, a jazz club, and a French restaurant, that makes any act seem more special. If you’re feeling exhausted from the dancing on the ground floor, retreat to one of the balconies for some food and space.
