We’re all for substance, but when it comes with piled-high plates of Scandinavian style we can hardly contain ourselves. And that’s exactly what Griffins’ Steakhouse Extraordinaire offers. Housed in a new Waterfront Building between Central Train Station and City Hall, the eatery is a thoroughly modern taken on an old-fashioned train station restaurant with industrial-style chrome and tiles mixed in with rich fabrics and ornate patterns. The interiors are eclectic, to say the least, and are courtesy of Gothenburg-based design firm Stylt; heading up its operations is creative director Erik Nissen Johansen, who has combined motifs from the worlds of travel and glamour to create a trendy space indeed. Far from your average spit-and-sawdust steak joint, this stylish venue serves up meat from all corners of the globe – from Nebraska ribeye to Chilean Wagyu – with razor-sharp Scandinavian flare.
