The managers here describe Grill as a restaurant with a ‘living room’ feel, but in fact it looks more like a modern furniture store. Although this sounds off-putting, in fact this place feels very homely, with its numerous different sofas, armchairs and tables scattered about the large room.
rnThe idea is to create comfortable surroundings in which to collapse and enjoy a relaxed chat over a unique menu. The last third of the Restaurangen/Fredsgatan 12 group, it follows that Grill should be as original as its sister restaurants. Here the concept is to offer a menu of dishes where food is cooked in one of five ways – stone-baked, rotîsserie, barbecue, charcoal or ishiyaki.
rnFish, meat and vegetables are prepared in your preferred style and the extensive wine list is closely aligned with the menu, giving detailed recommendations as to what is best to drink with what. This is a new and cool establishment, but manages to achieve the cosiness it has set out to generate. Also, the food is exquisite.
