Reminiscent of what locals describe as a ‘beach shack bar’, Hawaiian Shack is a time machine where after a drink or two drinkers are instantly transported back to that beach shack in Goa circa 1995.
Lit by florescent blue and green light – try not to pitch up on a hangover or if prone to migraines – this is a rough-around-the-edges sort of place that welcomes everyone. There’s normally some good 80’s tunes playing and plenty of crowd pleasers. With a penchant for dancing and high jinks the crowd is a long way from the city’s Barbie and Ken brigade who wouldn’t dream of hanging out here.
If you just want to play and let your hair down Hawaiian Shack is where to get your hula on on the dance-floor alongside a crowd of fun-loving, casual Mumbaikars.
