Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar
Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar is a place to gather. Not just because it’s got the space (it has – it’s vast). Or because the restaurant itself is warm and whimsically decorated with a bit of industrial here, a splash of rustic there (it is). But mainly for the food. It’s American in style in the best way. There’s everything from fried chicken (served with biscuits, apple cabbage slaw and local honey) and mac and cheese to New England lobster rolls (think: brioche rolls and brown butter aioli) on the menu. As well as all manner of international influences. We’re talking Calabrian shrimp pasta and carbonara-style flatbreads (festooned with ricotta, pancetta, rocket, and poached egg) that are made to order in the kitchen’s roaring wood-fired oven.
At Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar you’ll find burgers, freshly shucked oysters, and the aptly-named “Whole Beast Feast”, which sees a whole suckling pork delivered to your table (if you order in advance), as well as plenty of country bread, apple butter and sour mustard to enjoy with it. And on Sundays, brunch beckons with its beguiling mix of sweet and savoury options, like chicken and waffles, rich smoked salmon bagels, and salted caramel French toast.
Whether you’re enjoying a sprawling family meal at one of the farmhouse-style tables, an evening with friends in a cosy booth, or a romantic date in the warm glow of the drop lights, there’s a drink to suit at Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar. You can explore the extensive wine list or settle in with a glass of Lagavulin, celebrate with Californian bubbles or just kick back with one of the many draft beers. Although you might want to tuck into some appetizers while you peruse; the bacon-wrapped dates are a solid choice.
