Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya
The Hotel Leningradskaya in Moscow stands out from amongst its siblings in the Hilton chain. It has the same deluxe amenities, including an indoor pool, free wi-fi, a delicious restaurant (in this case, Janus) and a very chic bar. The rooms are well appointed and kitted out with LCD flat panel televisions and 250 thread count sheets and you can always top up your tan in the solarium, especially useful during the cold, dark Russian winters.
But as lovely and grand as the Hilton is, it is a chain at the end of the day. This particular hotel is different. Currently the Hilton’s only Russian outpost, the Hilton Leningradskaya has become part of the skyline and the history of Moscow.
Housed in one of the Seven Sisters buildings commissioned by Stalin to glorify the Soviet State after World War II, the Hilton is in such architectural and historical company as the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Moscow State University.
Definitely worth a visit – a stay here is practically cultural.
