HMS Belfast
Permanently moored just west of Tower Bridge, this 11,500-ton British war cruiser served as a flagship in World War II and is one of the most prominent sightseeing spots in London today. Set over nine decks are variously the engine room, the ops rooms, officers’ cabins and (unintentionally) creepy waxwork sailors. There’s a poignant chill on board as its recent history unfurls itself – it opened the bombardment of the Normandy coast on D-Day.
