The trendiest duo in Paris (the team behind Le Baron and Chez Regine; see PARTY) teamed up with one of the Costes family to create this hip young hotel and restaurant just off rue des Martyrs in Montmartre. Everything about it is chic and playful, starting with the pink, adult-rated Mickey Mouse at reception, and continuing with the 20 rooms, designed by artists and designers such as Sophie Calle and Marc Newson. Each has its own look and feel, so nicely defined you could give them all themes. Playboy Bachelor Pad? All-black walls, carpet and bedlinen, oh, and a million magazines and annuals featuring tanned 1970s model girls. In Teenage Boy’s Room, a skateboard casually leans by the bed, and robot toys are scattered everywhere. Some of the rooms have art installations; others are perfect for party people, with bar and private terrace. Bathrooms are replete with Kiehl’s products, and Japanese chocolate biscuits wait on the bed. The restaurant is joyously simple, serving burgers and roast chicken, with a gorgeous courtyard for the warmer months.
