Hotel Sovietsky
The Sovietsky is a historical hotel, almost in the realms of legend in Moscow.
The rooms range from the cosy and atmospheric, to the grand, almost off-the-charts signature suites (for example, the Stalin and YAR suite).
The Summer Terrace in the hotel’s courtyard is a charming place to while away the hours in the warmer months – spend a Russian summer evening sipping your drink under the trees (some Russian vodka, perhaps?) and order something cooked fresh on the nearby charcoal grill.
But the big culinary draw at the Sovietsky is Yar. Among the celebrities who have sampled the delights of the hotel restaurant, the Sovietsky can boast Arnold Schwartzenegger, Margaret Thatcher and Chuck Norris.
The hotel and it’s restaurants pride themselves on high quality of service and good old Russian hospitality and considering they have been around for over a hundred years, it’s probably safe to say that they’ve hit upon a winning strategy.
