Set on Kadiköy’s prime street for intoxication, Kadife Sokak, Isis is a bar-cum-dance venue in an old three-storey house. A mild Egyptian theme sets the visual tone with murals and statuary but happily doesn’t spill over into the programming of the live music or to all of the funky indoor drinking areas. The patio/garden at the back, with tiled and wooden flooring, is absolutely massive and you can hear a collective sigh of relief as pints are put to lips on warm summer evenings. All in all, Isis is a justifiably popular boozer with those in their 20s and 30s. Its menu has expanded in recent years to include pizzas, supersize salads and lazy breakfasts.
