Shopping in Madrid wouldn’t be complete without a peek into Isolée. This concept store has two surprises; firstly that such a wide range of cutting-edge elements could exist under one roof; and secondly, that the space under that roof could be so moderate and still pack it all in.
Billed as a multiespacios, Isolée is at once a café, delicatessen, CD shop, Segway dealer, perfumery and newsagents. It’s as if it were a one-stop super-shop for the cool-hunter. The café serves sushi, bagels and fresh juices, while the deli stocks Italian pastas, Mediterranean wines, coffees and teas from around the world and chocolate fondues. You can buy kitchen gadgets or glassware from Carlo Moretti, or give fragrances from Ex Voto a test-squirt.
The magazines on offer include Wallpaper* (natch), and you can even buy furniture and accessories from Jonathon Adler. To round it all off, you could dress yourself from head to toe in Duffer, RED Valentino or David Delfín, and then ride home on your newly purchased Segway, safe in the knowledge that you’ve just shopped your heart out in Madrid’s coolest new store.
