One of the coolest cafes in Madrid there are two surprising things about Isolée: first, that such a wide range of cutting-edge elements could exist under one roof, and second, that the space under that roof could be so moderate and still pack it all in. Billed as a multiespacios, Isolée is at once a café, delicatessen, champagne bar, CD shop, Segway dealer, perfumery and newsagents. It’s as if it were a one-stop, super-shop for the cool-hunter.
Isolée serves sushi, bagels and fruit juices, while the deli stocks Italian pastas, Mediterranean wines, coffees and teas from around the world and chocolate fondues. You can buy kitchen gadgets or glassware from Carlo Moretti, and give fragrances from Ex Voto a test-squirt. The magazines on offer include Monocle, and you can even buy furniture and accessories from Jonathon Adler. The champagne bar, which stocks Moët and goes by the playful name of the Bubble Lounge, is a must as you venture into Chueca for a night’s debauchery. The more pure-minded can enjoy one of the nine brands of mineral water on the menu.
