Jardim dos Sentidos
The list of vegetarian restaurants in Lisbon is fairly short, but Jardim dos Sentidos serves up a hybrid that’s healthy, filling and inexpensive. The daily special is almost always the star of show, but most of the regular menu items (salads most notably excepted) will not disappoint.
rnThursday lunchtime’s meatless feijoada à brasileira is particularly well-prepared and there are loads of intriguing starters – bhajis, pickles, wonderful mini poppadoms, excellent soups and an assortment of fresh bread – included in the price, an astonishing €8.50. Go early if you’re an indecisive eater with low blood sugar: it’s buffet central.
rnA peaceful spot, it also offers massages and a myriad of Oriental therapies. Garden in summer.
