Jules Verne Panoramabar
Views and cocktails: a magic combination and Jules Verne Panoramabar has both in abundance. Located in an octagonal tower with an observatory above, floor to ceiling windows give way to a stunning panorama of the city, lake and mountains; it’s akin to climbing Grossmünster but minus the effort and plus martinis.
A wee bit touristy, the bar is equally popular with locals so arrive early to bag a table by the window. On offer are an extensive range of cocktails, from the classics to some more inventive options and a decent wine and spirits list. Food is served from 11.45am-10pm, but we wouldn’t recommend it for lunch or dinner. Instead dive into a cocktail or a glass of fizz, perhaps some crostini if you’re peckish and head elsewhere for dinner.
It doesn’t have the most obvious entrance: walk through Brasserie Lipp and take the elevator on the right hand side.
