K.U. Cafe
K.U. (for ‘Kent Universe’) Café was once one of the hippest bars in Prague. Its status has slipped somewhat in recent years, but it’s still one of the premier nightspots to see and be seen in.
rn
rnTucked in between Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square (just opposite its sister venue, Café Café), KU Café’s location might be central but it feels far removed from the madding crowds that can flood the main arteries of the city. The clientele seem to be drawn directly from the social pages and gossip sections of the local press, and eye each other up and down to the repetitive throb of house music.
rn
rnThe refined selection of cocktails – well proportioned, nicely mixed, just like the tunes – lubricate the masses. The more these hipsters sip, the more their lipstick slips and the music gets louder until – eventually – it can all turn into quite good fun.
