More a Berlin pub with a dance-floor than an actual club, Kaffee Burger is a general all rounder. Recently celebrating it’s 10th year, the famous Russian Disco takes place intermittently. Following suit from Vladimir Kaminer’s book of the same name, the party attracts nostalgic ‘Ostis’ and anyone with an interest in kitsch Russian pop. Owner poet Bert Papenfuss maintains his craft with spoken-word poetry jams and live bands play regularly. Entrance is often free, so it’s worth dropping by if you’ve nothing better to do. Dim red lighting adds convivial warmth and works as a convenient camouflage for the slightly shabby interior. There are all kinds of music nights, so best check the website for listings. In any event, expect a crowd of all shapes, sizes and ages.
