Hg2 : The Hedonist

Kate Owen Gallery

This one of the art galleries in Sydney which specialises in contemporary indigenous art. Spread out over a three-levelled, airy space in Rozelle, a Bohemian suburb over the Anzac Bridge, it’s just a few minutes’ drive from the CBD. There are around 800 works by emerging and established Aboriginal artists, who hail from the central and western desert regions, including pieces from the Warlukurlangu Artists’ Aboriginal Corporation in Yuendumu, a community some 300-kilometres northwest of Alice Springs. All works are authenticated, and range from smaller pieces under $500 to larger, more complex works. The studio is owned by Kate Owen, a British-born artist who grew up in Australia.
