There are plenty of trekking opportunities in Estonia’s empty outback. Escape for one or more nights to get the most out of the countryside. The best riding is some way out of Tallinn and worth organising in advance.
For some deep country action, drive to picturesque Kohala Manor on the banks of the Kunda River, 120km from Tallinn, towards St Petersburg. Accommodation is available at the hotel, and riding tours on Icelandic horses can be organised all year around.
We would definitely recommend the full day riding tour. You’ll stop for a picnic on the coastal route and continue on to one of the oldest settlements in Estonia. There, you’ll enjoy dinner, a sauna and a swim, before heading back to the Manor for coffee to complete the day.
