When more than a dozen undercover agents failed to prevent the loss of President Bush’s daughter Barbara’s handbag during their stay in Buenos Aires, the news broke while they were lodging at the Krista.
Like The Cocker hotel in San Telmo, the Krista slickly pulls off that well designed, homely feel. The ten rooms all access an indoor or outdoor patio of some sorts. It’s a cheekily designed little maze, perfect for lovers or, indeed, the undercover traveller.
Aside from a slightly creepy panelled room, all of the habitaciones are the kind your mother would want you to sleep in: clean, stylishly simple and with bedside tables for bedtime reading. Kristina, the owner, will not mind, however, if you stumble in late from a night out in Palermo Hollywood, where this hotel is to be found. The wavy haired Kristina will have breakfast ready and waiting in the bright sitting room wing of the lobby.
