R.O.O.M., Alströmergatan 20
While Svenskt Tenn is the place for a more classic Swedish style, R.O.O.M. is a huge place that sells much more modern furnishings. It’s not all Nordic; they also have an excellent collection of English wallpapers. It’s far from cheap but even if you don’t want to shop for that perfect Scandinavian sofa it’s worth visiting to get ideas and be inspired by the pieces on display. A walk over to R.O.O.M. is a popular weekend stroll for lots of locals.
Västermalmsgallerian, St Eriksgatan 45
This compact shopping mall helped to pioneer the revival of the Fridhemsplan area of Kungsholmen. You enter past the Dubbel-W café, which is always busy, and a popular Apple computer store. Shops include MQ, Björn Borg and Solo for clothes, Granit for cool household items, and high-quality Swedish cosmetics at FACE Stockholm.
