Kunsthaus Zürich
Formed in 1787 to promote Swiss art, Zürich’s most important
art museum is now home to paintings by Picasso, Klee, Matisse, Monet, van Gogh,
Chagall and Edvard Munch. Add into the mix a wide selection of Old Masters from
the golden age of Flemish, Dutch and Italian painting, a comprehensive
collection of Switzerland’s most famous artists like Alberto Giacometti, and an
extensive selection of modern art, Pop Art and photography, and you have the
recipe for happy hours of artistic appreciation.
The Kunsthaus is both a museum
and exhibition space and they curate regular thematic and artist-focused
exhibitions.
