La Bateau Ivre
All that you could want when dining out in Courchevel can be found here at Le Bateau Ivre. Spread over two floors at the top of the Pomme de Pin hotel, this restaurant offers a sumptuous seafood menu set against a backdrop of breathtakingly beautiful mountain views.
Indeed, its elevated position high above the powder means the photo opportunities are unrivaled. Michelin-starred chef J P Jacob has created a largely traditional menu that’s particularly heavy on fish, with some freshwater surprises such as pike.
Jacob learned his trade under acclaimed chefs across France and has brought this experience to the Alps; thought don’t expect to find ham-and cheese staples such as tartiflette, other than as an occasional appetiser. Lunchtime opening times can vary in the week so check before you rock up – you may be sorely disappointed.
