Hg2 : The Hedonist

La Tabkha

One of the most innovative Lebanese restaurants in Beirut, where Grandma’s home cooking is served up Nobu- fashion in a stylish space designed for comfort. The concept is Lebanese fast food, according to its general manager Fady Saba, the man who opened legendary Beirut bar/club Zinc (see Drink).

With its wide glass windows and comfortable seating up against wood tables, Tabkha is always packed and the atmosphere always buzzing. You’ll hear the usual patois of French, Arabic and English spoken by the trendy Gemayzeh artist crowd who mix in here with the local advertising and banking execs. There are three daily specials available and a traditional Lebanese mezze buffet. The walls are decorated with works by local artists and photographers.
