La Terrazza dell’Eden
Not many restaurants in Rome can boast a Michelin star rated service with genuinely breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the Eternal City skyline, whether at lunchtime under the glow of the Roman sun or when illuminated under a starry sky. Cuisine is also unequivocally excellent and suits a range of palates from the adventurous to the traditional, with creative classics from chef Fabio Ciervo. The house speciality is the fiori di zucca (courgette flowers), which we defy anyone not to enjoy. It’s best to book a week in advance, but staff are very accommodating and may be able to offer a table on the terrifically lovely terrace, which smokers may prefer anyway. Romantic and traditionally glamorous without being staid, this makes for an unforgettable winner on an onerous occasion.
