The Landmark Hotel’s arrival in February 2009 marked a serious raising of the bar for the international players on the Baku hotel scene. Located at the top of the prestigious, pink granite Landmark office building, offering
stunning views across the bay to the hills of Sabayil and the omnipresent thrust of the TV Tower. Rooms are generously proportioned and all about pared down, sleek, minimalist lines, which are even more successfully employed in the hotel’s communal areas and the fabulous Sky bar (see Drink). The Landmark’s health centre is also one of the best gym facilities in town, with the excellent Vitamin Bar (see Snack) and a sun deck with views to die for. As we go to press, construction continues with a two floor restaurant extravaganza to crown the hotel due to open in the early summer of 2010.
