L’Arte di Offrire il Thé
Milan’s cafés are more knowledgable at serving coffee, but the Art of Offering Tea is taken very seriously in this dedicated tea boutique. In a delicate, tranquil, pistachio-green setting that’s half-shop, half-tasting-room, the process of tea is presented.
Brews of the world’s best teas – from Kenya, Sri Lanka, China, Japan and India with some as precious as wild orchids – are perfectly measured, perfectly timed, and served at the perfect temperature. But don’t go on an empty stomach – the tea purists frown upon breaking into the Earl Grey flavoured biscuits that are stacked up in Parisian dressers. It’s just not the done thing to overload the palate.
Of course all manner of tea trivia can be bought to take away, including teapots, strainers, Moroccan and Japanese tea sets, and even tea jam. There’s also a degustazione on Wednesdays (booking advised), which is more like tea school and explains the ritual of tea. Just never utter the c-word (coffee).
