Le Baron de Paris
Red. This is the color synonymous with the hedonistic confines of one of Tokyo’s most sleekly designed clubs. A small red light at the end of an empty grey alleyway marks the unassumingly urban entrance. But its discrete façade belies a riotous interior.
Wander past the heavy doors and head straight downstairs: beneath sultry red lighting, the champagne is generally flowing among multiple reflecting mirrors, walls of red flashing lights and black leather sofas. Welcome to Le Baron de Paris. The Tokyo outpost of the legendary Paris nightspot with an interior created by designers including Marc Newson, it is the city’s main celebrity magnet, with regular hedonistic parties thrown by fashionista magazines and visiting musicians.
Hosted by Luli, the raven-haired scarlet lipsticked director of Le Baron, the club favours the creative and original over the mainstream – so make sure you don’t turn up in a suit.
