Re-opened in 2008 under new ownership, but almost unchanged, the former Club China is still a sexy civilized den, miraculously not seedy, not flashy. It is a straight-up tribute to old Shanghai, with Chinese red walls, checkerboard floors and decoration art wall sconces in the main bar, bamboo and wooden carved dark screens in the restaurant upstairs, and colonial-style shutters and leather armchairs in the previous room. There is plenty of room, the cocktails are good, and the service of grace is added to the atmosphere of evasion, although the decor only if the transport distance away from the Opera Bastille. We can not recommend the restaurant or lounge downstairs dansant as avidly as the bar. Also, keep the dress Susie Wong unless you want to be confused with the staff.
