Hg2 : The Hedonist

Le Miroir

A welcome newcomer to Montmartre, near the top of rue des
Martyrs, Le Miroir looks and feels fairly old-school, with factory-style lamps,
red leather banquettes and bare wooden tables with heavy iron bases. The young
kitchen team, however, have some impressive experience behind them (not least
at the Alain Ducasse bistro Au Lyonnais), so expect new-style classics such as a
plate of cochonnailles – pâté, sausage
and trotter with onion jam – and vanilla petits pots de crème with home-made biscuits. The madeleines served with
coffee are a nice little tribute to Ducasse. A great place to prolong the last
shreds of pleasure if you’re leaving town via the Gare du Nord (don’t forget to
leave time to pick up some macaroons at boulangerie Arnaud Delmontel at number
