Le Pin Up
A tiny-wee place in flâneur-friendly Montorgueil, very hipster, with white walls, retro furniture and boudoirish wallpaper. Like everywhere else on this street, it’s welcoming to all comers, and the drinks don’t cost silly money; cocktails are around ?8. There’s another whitewashed
space downstairs, in the stone-vaulted basement, where DJs play Thursdays to Saturday, mainly electro but dependably good and diverse. Things hot up seriously at the weekend, with vintage-clad girls and bearded boys squeezing onto the size-small dancefloor. The staff try to keep the beats on the ground floor relatively gentle, so you can chat late into the night. The house cocktail is called the Piscine, and comes in a suitably big glass.
