Les Deux Tours
Les Deux Tours was one of the first properties to open up on the luxury Palamaraie accommodation scene. Designed by famed architect Charles Boccara and built in 1991 in the shape of a small Arab-Andalusian village, it swiftly became one of Marrakech’s most well known properties. Though it struggled with management problems for a few years, it’s now firmly back on the map again under the capable guidance of manager Albrecht. The 35 rooms (12 junior suites, 13 ‘chambres classiques’, 5 premium suites, and 5 private residences with pool) have undergone a stellar refurbishment, but remain ensconced within an alluring natural landscape of channeled waterways, croaking frog ponds and palms and orange trees. The refurb has done nothing to diminish the property’s faded charm and overall rustic appeal. Rooms are beautifully equipped with antique furnishings, divine hammam-style bathrooms and minimalist salons, alongside large TV screens and other mod cons. Villas have their own private gardens and pools and the on-site spa, Les Bains, offers traditional hammam, massages and treatments. There’s a terrace for lunch and pool-side snacks, a discreet café (Café Maure) under a huge mulberry tree and a charming bar for intimate drinks. The splendid restaurant – Salammbô – is run by a Michelin starred chef who turns out seasonal French cuisine with a succulent Moroccan twist. A perfect blend of boutique and bucolic.
