Letná Beer Garden
In good weather, all manner of Prague wildlife – local, expat, canine and bee – flock to this drinking spot in Letna Park, which enjoys what is easily the most beautiful view of all the beer gardens in Prague (and there are many). Situated at the eastern end of the park and high upon a ledge, numerous wooden picnic tables are scattered under tall trees through the trunks and leaves of which peak astonishing views of red-tiled rooftops and tiny steeples of Old Town Prague. Letna Beer Garden is nothing fancy – both the easy-drinking local lager Gambrinus and ubiquitous Pilsner Urquell flow freely from what is essentially a hut into plastic half-litre glasses for a mere pittance – but its precisely the relaxed ambiance that keeps local expats, hippies, pot smokers and dogs coming back on sunny days. In summer months, a small stand also delivers the typical sausages and snacks for when the munchies inevitably strike.
