Hg2 : The Hedonist

L’Hôtel de Sers

Those who remember the former Queen Elizabeth may feel sad to see it transformed by hotel entrepreneur Thibault Vidalenc and architect-brother Thomas into (yet another) designer boutique hotel. The old, cramped and creaking, though utterly charming hotel has been completely gutted to make way for a minimalist modern look with funky touches. On entering, guests are confronted with an expanse of fuchsia carpet stretched out along a gallery lined with modern light fittings, grand grey leather armchairs, and white walls decorated with classical portraits (remnants of the old hotel, perhaps?). The fuchsia, grey and white colour scheme is continued throughout the whole hotel, including its bar and restaurant, which look out onto a lovely courtyard, and its no-nonsense minimalist rooms. The suites and one utterly luxurious top-floor apartment have breathtaking views of Paris. There’s a small spa, which also offers massages in your room, or the novel idea of ‘customized’ baths, which are run and prepared for your total relaxation after a hard day’s shopping or organizing fashion shoots.
