Liberty
This iconic Tudor revival store started life in 1875 as a repository for Arthur Liberty’s goods shipped in from the Orient, and now strays far ahead of other Regents Street shops in London. It still exudes a unique charm with its gorgeous panelled interior, Tudor-style beamed exterior, and eclectic, original buying throughout. Fashion labels span the top Brits, Belgians, French, Italians, Americans and Japanese, plus there are Arts and Crafts antiques, linens and homeware, and the store’s famous Art Nouveau prints on any textile that will take it. Tea and scones and oysters and champagne await the weary, at its various cafes.
