Li’l Dizzy’s Cafe
Something about Li’l Dizzy’s always makes people smile. Owner Wayne Baquet is a gracious host, and this sunlit cafe a few blocks from the French Quarter is a favourite among African-Americans in the nearby Treme neighbourhood. At lunch, the tables are filled with ladies in their Sunday best, police taking a break from their beats, and fans of the Creole soul food that the Baquet family has served for decades at restaurants around New Orleans. The food combines New Orleans dishes with touches of the soul food more common throughout other parts of the South.
