L’Instant d’Or

Any shiny new Paris restaurant with a location on Avenue George V directly across from the Hotel George V is going to need to suitably impress the suits and deep pockets that tread the Golden Triangle. Its pun-filled name aside (it’s a play on “Golden Triangle”), L’Instant d’Or has done pretty well, with its floor-to-ceiling matte white interiors making way for haute cuisine prepared by chef Frédéric Duca. A native of Marseilles, Duca brings with him the south of France – especially seafood – and a CV that includes training under both Gerard Passedat and Michel del Burgo. The dishes are exquisitely prepared and surprising, despite the all round new flavour of the restaurant, and the wine list is thoughtfully matched to Duca’s rich but very palatable offerings.
