The plentiful number of LA bars and lounges might have you thinking that Los Angeles is strictly a cocktail town, but a number of new, beer-focused establishments have, in the last few years, given that stereotype a run for its money. Leading the new band of upstarts is Little Bear, a Belgian beer café located in LA’s up-and-coming Arts District. Set in an expansive, bright, high-ceilinged room whose industrial rafters are still exposed, Little Bear brings a chic edge to the gastropub genre. Brunch-goers can expect to chow down on excellent renditions of comfort food staples (how can you say no to a burger with waffles in place of buns?), while mains like macaroni cheese with smoked mozzarella pair perfectly with beer. Which brings us to the drinks list: 17 taps of craft beer and a bottle list roughly 50 brews both feature an even split of excellent Belgian and American numbers.
